La Asociación de Malabaristas was born in 1988 from a love of the circus: the circus as a spectacle, the circus as a leisure activity, the circus as a way of life, the circus as a learning tool, the circus as an illusion. Created by this association, La Escuela de Circo Carampa has been developing its activity since 1994 focusing its work on the teaching of circus arts in a professional way and maintaining a commitment to continuity and professionalism in its programmes. La Escuela de Circo Carampa has been present in all the important events in the recent history of circus in Spain and its work has been the driving force and inspiration for numerous young circus projects throughout Spain and Latin America.
We all are former students of the Escuela de Circo Carampa, we finished the school 1 or 2 years ago.
At the beginning there were only two of us, and then, as the work increased, we were joined by Laura (flyer at Cia Trip de la Noria) and Andrea (aerial rope artist at Duo Comsa).
We, Eva and Elio, are the two leaders. Eva is an aerial artist (trapeze and hair hanging) and circus teacher based in Cadiz and Madrid, member of the company Peto a Peto. Elio is a nomad pluridisciplinary artist and teacher, member of the collective Las Bomberas.
